Our animal rehabilitation team is qualified animal physiotherapists and veterinary nurses, to provide the utmost care to your pet.

OrthoPets representatives are available for consultations with out of state clients via phone or video conferences. OrthoPets custom made devices are: Stifle (ACL Knee), Carpus (wrist), Tarsus (Hock, ankle), and Elbow Braces. We also offer custom made prosthetics.

 

Yara Rita Pinto Quintanilha, Technician in Animal Rehabilitation & Owner

Yara has been in Adult Education and Distance Learning for over 20 years. She has been working under the supervision of Dr. Mônica Veras and will shortly graduate as a rehab technician. Her skills as a teacher enable OrthoPets to provide our Referring Veterinarians and patient owners the information they need, when they need it, in a clear and effective manner. Yara is also case manager, manager and finance director for both OrthoPets Veterinary Orthotics & Prosthetics and OrthoPets Center of Animal Pain Management and Mobility.

 

Mônica Veras, M.D.V., Rehab Specialist and Owner

Mônica Veras began her career as a Veterinarian after graduating from Unifenas.

  • Back in 2008 she took her Master degree in Animal Physiotherapy from University of Knoxville-Tenesse(EUA);
  • Right after that, she also got her Master degree in Animal Physiotherapy from Universidade Metodista.

The combination of her clinical and technical education has lead Mônica to manage and direct PetPlus before turning her time and talent to devoting herself to animal rehabilitation.

Mônica lectures at many major universities. She is actively involved in continuing education in the animal physiotherapy field and regularly lectures and conducts workshops on Animal Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy to Physiotherapists, Veterinarians, Veterinary Nurses and Dogs Clubs both in Brazil and overseas.

She has a keen interested in the application of orthotics and prosthetics for the management of small animal patients. Recently, she visited Veterinary-Orthopets in the USA and completed training with their founder Martin Kaufmann.

She also has a particular interest in the use of hydrotherapy as part of the rehabilitation of dogs.

 

José Roberto, M.D.V. and physiatrist

He began his career as a Veterinarian after graduating from Unifenas.
